Got this as forward in the morning...
Never look at what you have lost. Always look at what is left with you.
What a marvelous thought.
These are the two recently released Kannada movies in Karnataka. Look at the movie names 'Mental' Manja and 'Deadly' Soma... huh And the story line - same old, violence, taking revenge and a bit of love story in between... (just guessing by the posters of the movies) Who on earth wants to watch these movies !!

Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince - what a fantabulous writing by Rowling. Completed the book yesterday night (or rather say early morning today) -- was not at able to put that down till the end. But still my favourite is 'Prisoner of Azkaban' - nothing can beat that. But as Vaish said - Why? -- was that necessary ?? I was Furious and Shocked -- and was not able to continue finish off remaining 50 odd pages. And I'm thinking of which curse use on Rowling, can I use one of the 'Unforgivable Curses' ?
It was worth reading till 4AM. Had only 4 hrs of sleep (till 7AM at home + an hour sleep in the cab while coming to office) -- got to leave early today and catchup y'day's sleep. And if you haven't read, read it now.

"Your name?" "Prashanth, with two 'h's" "Prashanth and with what ?" "Its Prashanth, with two 'h's. P-R-A-S-H-A-N-T- and another H" I'm fedup of spelling my name to each and everyone who writes it down. My name is a common name all over India (I guess so!!), but the way they write is different. Take the case of 'north Indians' - they write it as 'prashant' - missing out second 'h'. And people down south - especially Tamilians write as 'prasanth' - missing the first one. There are few (lazy) people who miss both, (saves time and energy for them !) and write as 'prasant'. I really get upset when someone tampers my name. Its something like questioning my identity ;) Nowadays whenever someone ask my name to note down, I tend to spell my name instead of saying my name. So do keep in mind while addressing me to add both 'h's... ~P-R-A-S-H-A-N-T-H, with 2 'h's :D

Its more than month since the sixth book (Halfblood prince) came out and still to get hold of it. Before I start the sixth one, thought of re-read all 5 (read for the first time last year) so that I don't have to scratch my head if Rowling points to something in previos books :p So far finished 1 to 4 in a span of 12 days and I'm totally lost in the wizard world... This is what I feel now-a-days I --
  • Wonder why my team-lead won't say "five points to Gryffindor", when someone in the team finds a critical bug - remember I'm a QAE
  • Feel like shouting "CONSTANT VIGILANCE" (like Mad-eye Moody) at others if they are not paying attention when I am talking
  • Transfigure my good old 'Nikon 2100' into 'Nikon D70' or a higher end camere :p
  • Search for my wand when stuck in traffic, to make use of Summoning charm - mutter "accio firebolt" to get it and fly to office
  • Expect my plate to get cleared after my lunch or dinner
  • Think why can't we apparate/disaaparate - I can save almost 3 hrs per day of travelling to and from office....
*Sigh*

Its just little more than a month since I left 'Chennai' - the capital of so-called 'state of temples', Tamilnadu. When I was there, my friend used to ask me what are the places to visit in and around Chennai and my reply was always same words - "Nothing except for temples and beaches". When I was there in Chennai, my weekend timetable was almost like this... On Saturdays, getup late in the morning (or rather say afternoon)... Some experiments with cooking... Reach good old Satyam cine complex 4 in the evening... buy a movie ticket for 7 or 9 o'clock show... and then window shopping in Spencer's plaza till 8... Then compensate fr experimental lunch in near by Saravana bhavan or the punjabi dhaba... On Sundays, software engineer used to turn into a dobhi... laundering the week's dump and pressing them... come evening a stroll in the near by beach (Elliot's beach) -- and sit on the sand for hours looking at the continuous waves and have a chat with roomies...

This was the only sunrise that I witnessed in my 2.5 years stay in Chennai and that was worth getting up early on a holiday and a morning walk.

Mahabalipuram, a place worth to visit and a heaven if you are a photographer. I visited this place 3-4 times when I was there - would love to visit again and again.

And now I'm in Bangalore and already missing those wonderful places in Chennai - the weekend spots - Spencer Plaza (especially 'Landmark'), Sathyam theatre, Elliots beach, Mahabalipuram etc... Its true, the saying - "Kuch kuch paane ke liye, kuch kuch khona padta hain.". *Sigh* But one good thing is -- "No more sweaty Saturdays and hot Sundays."
