At last Festival season has started — Raksha bandhan, Krishna Janmashtami, Vinayak Chouti… The list goes on. If you make a list of all festivals celebrated all over India – there will be atleast 2-3 festivals per week. Festivals means meeting good old pals, old relatives after a long break, getting introduced to new ones etc. In total it will be a kind of gala time.
Whenever I meet a new relative or an old one after a gap of 3-4 years, a common question will be thrown upon me — “What are you studying??“. And I say I’m working as a Software engineer, then immediately comes the second question – “When did you completed your graduation ? 2005?“. Then I’ll have to switch on my recorded statements – “No, passed out in ’02. Workign for the past three years. blah blah blah…
I feel happy (sometimes – not always) that I look much younger than I am. ‘Aaaarrghhh’… I get irritated when the same question is asked – repeatedly.
Same thing happened on this Wednesday – three guys asked me the same question. And one among them was not at all believing that I’m 24 years old – I had to take out my driving license to prove it. huh!
But now to avoid all these thing – I have got a solution. Next time when someone asks-
“What are you studying??”. I’ll say – “Flunked four times in 12th, appearing for the fifth time this October.”
