With 2 ‘h’s

“Your name?”
“Prashanth, with two ‘h’s”
“Prashanth and with what ?”
“Its Prashanth, with two ‘h’s. P-R-A-S-H-A-N-T- and another H”

I’m fedup of spelling my name to each and everyone who writes it down. My name is a common name all over India (I guess so!!), but the way they write is different.

Take the case of ‘north Indians’ – they write it as ‘prashant‘ – missing out second ‘h’. And people down south – especially Tamilians write as ‘prasanth‘ – missing the first one. There are few (lazy) people who miss both, (saves time and energy for them !) and write as ‘prasant‘.

I really get upset when someone tampers my name. Its something like questioning my identity ;)

Nowadays whenever someone ask my name to note down, I tend to spell my name instead of saying my name.

So do keep in mind while addressing me to add both ‘h’s…

I couldn’t resist commenting…cos it hits close to home. It really pisses me off when ppl spell my name wrong…and continue to do it even after I have corrected them..!

I am Karthik. I have been spelled karthick, kartic, kartik, and a recent addition by an american friend, CARTEC..!

You make a comment about ‘north indians’ missing out the h at the end of your name …. what about the case when ‘south indians’ add the unwanted “H”‘s in their names!!!!
